Nancy Oliver Smith

Nancy Oliver Smith is a North Georgia Artist who works in watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, mixed media, and pastels.

A Native of rural Mississippi, she has a strong love of nature which shows in all her paintings. As a local artist she draws and paints a wide variety of subjects- wildlife, florals, landscapes, waterscapes, still life, and abstracts. She often uses intense colors and unusual subjects to touch the emotions of viewers.

Nancy's training in art was obtained in various college level classes, workshops, lessons from local artist Sherman Dowe, books demonstrations, and 15 years of practice! She has exhibited in the Blue Ridge Arts in the Park, the Fall Wildlife Festival, the former Union County Bank shows, Carriage House Exhibits, as well as several galleries in Blue Ridge and Hiawassee Georgia.

A graduate of Georgia State University and retired media specialist, Nancy has also worked in graphic arts associations and maintains her home studio on Lake Nottely in Blairsville.

Nancy welcomes interested art lovers to visit her lake retreat and "creation space"
